Middle River Power
San Joaquin Energy Center Carbon Capture Project
Carbon TerraVault and Middle River Power are also evaluating carbon capture and sequestration at the San Joaquin Energy Center, a roughly 330 megawatt natural gas power plant located in Tracy California. Under the proposed collaboration carbon dioxide emissions from the facility would be captured at the source and permanently stored in deep underground formations managed by Carbon TerraVault. The project is being assessed under a nonbinding memorandum of understanding and would require further engineering commercial structuring and regulatory approvals including Class VI permitting.
