Carbfix’s Silverstone project at Hellisheiði in Iceland will expand on its existing capture and injection plant, raising annual CO₂ storage from 12,000 to 34,000 tonnes through mineralization. Over its lifetime it is expected to cut 150,000 tonnes of emissions, equal to 10% of Iceland’s 2030 Climate Action Plan targets outside the EU ETS. Supported by a €3.9M EU Innovation Fund grant, the project will deliver a new CO₂-optimised capture plant, to be commissioned in 2025.
