DG Fuels
St. James Parish Facility Carbon Capture
DG Fuels is developing a large-scale sustainable aviation fuel production facility in St. James Parish, Louisiana that integrates low-carbon hydrogen and carbon capture to produce synthetic SAF from plant-based waste feedstocks such as sugarcane bagasse. The project is designed to produce fully drop-in aviation fuel that is compatible with existing aircraft engines and fueling infrastructure, allowing airlines to use the fuel without equipment modifications. The facility will use blue hydrogen, capture and manage process CO₂ emissions, and operate with no fossil fuel air emissions and no industrial wastewater discharge to the Mississippi River. The nearly $4.96 billion project is being developed to supply long-term SAF contracts with major global airlines, including Delta Air Lines, and is positioned to become a large-scale low-cost SAF producer in the Gulf Coast region. Once permitted, construction is expected to take approximately four years, with commercial operations targeted around 2028.
