Titan Treating Facility CCS

Northwind Midstream Partners is operating a carbon capture and acid gas injection project associated with its Titan Treating Facility in Lea County, New Mexico. The project captures a treated acid gas stream composed of approximately 70% CO₂ and 30% H₂S from natural gas processing operations and injects it into dedicated Class II underground injection wells located adjacent to the plant. Injection operations are supported by two permitted wells, Salt Creek AGI No. 2 and Salt Creek AGI No. 3, which target deep saline formations within the Siluro-Devonian and Delaware Mountain Group intervals, providing long-term subsurface containment of the captured CO₂ stream. The project is designed for long-duration operation, with Northwind planning up to 30 years of continuous injection. Salt Creek AGI No. 2 is permitted for up to 12 MMscf per day of treated acid gas injection, while Salt Creek AGI No. 3 is permitted for up to 8 MMscf per day, enabling large-scale capture and disposal of CO₂ generated by the Titan gas treating operations. The project operates under EPA Subpart RR monitoring, reporting, and verification requirements to ensure secure geologic storage and regulatory compliance.
