Treklyngen CCUS

Vardar Varme's biomass combustion plant is located in the Treklyngen industrial park in Hønefoss. With a 100,000 ton capture facility, Carbon Centric will capture more than 90% of CO₂ emissions from a completely biogenic source. The capture helps remove carbon that already exists as part of the natural carbon cycle. This means that the captured CO₂ can either be used as a valuable resource for other businesses, or stored permanently and form the basis for the production of carbon removal certificates (CDRs).
