UNICORN

The Nuada Carbon Capture Pilot is a demonstration of Nuada’s proprietary next-generation carbon capture technology at a waste-to-energy facility in the United Kingdom. The pilot system is being installed to capture CO₂ from the flue gas of a waste-to-energy incinerator, with the aim of validating Nuada’s advanced modular capture process under commercial operating conditions. The technology focuses on reducing energy consumption and improving capture efficiency compared with conventional solvent systems, and the pilot will generate performance data to support scaling to larger industrial emitters. The project is supported by research funding and partnerships including the University of Sheffield’s carbon capture research programs and UK government innovation grants that accelerate applied CCS solutions. By integrating capture equipment into an existing energy-from-waste plant, the Nuada pilot seeks to demonstrate practical CO₂ removal in a hard-to-abate emissions sector and help establish pathways for full-scale deployment
