Wallaby

Project Wallaby is an integrated carbon removal and water recovery project developed by Capture6 in Western Australia. The project combines water-based direct air capture (DAC) with renewable energy and industrial water streams to deliver permanent CO₂ removal while addressing regional water scarcity. The project uses Capture6’s electrochemical DAC technology to capture atmospheric CO₂ using saline and industrial brine streams. In parallel, the system recovers usable freshwater and produces low-carbon co-products such as hydrogen and specialty chemicals, creating multiple revenue streams from carbon credits, water offtake, and product sales. Project Wallaby is being deployed in phases, starting with on-site demonstration and system integration. The next scale phase targets approximately 17,000 tonnes per year of carbon removal and more than 1.5 million cubic meters of annual freshwater recovery. Full commercial deployment is planned to exceed 350,000 tonnes per year of durable CO₂ removal. DAC capacity Phase 1: Demonstration Phase 2: 17,000 tpa (+18,000 tpa PSC) Phase 3: Targeting 350,000+ tpa
