Whitegate Refinery Ervia CCS

Ervia’s Cork CCS study was developed to assess the capture of CO₂ emissions from three major local sources: BGE Whitegate Power Station, ESB Aghada Power Station, and Irving Oil’s Whitegate Refinery. The project considered building infrastructure to collect, transport, and export the captured CO₂ for permanent geological storage, either in depleted gas fields off Ireland’s coast or internationally. While a Pre-FEED study was completed to evaluate technical and economic feasibility, the project has since been postponed indefinitely.
