Abeona CCS Project

Abeona is a carbon dioxide transport and storage project being developed by Petrogas E&P Netherlands in the Dutch North Sea. The project would gather CO2 from hard-to-abate industrial emitters in the North Sea Canal Area and other parts of the Netherlands, move it offshore, and inject it for permanent storage into the depleted Helder, Helm, Hoorn and Haven oil fields in block Q1, roughly 20 km off the North Holland coast. Petrogas awarded Worley the pre-FEED study in July 2026. Worley's scope covers refining the development concept, establishing the technical basis for the project, reducing execution risk, and preparing cost estimates for the phases that follow. The work also includes integrating the facilities and pipeline elements so the project can carry into FEED as a coordinated whole
