Aemetis Riverbank CO2

Aemetis’s Carbon Capture subsidiary has secured the first CO₂ sequestration characterization well permit ever issued by the State of California, located on a 24-acre site within the Riverbank Industrial Complex. The project includes site preparation and access infrastructure, with plans to drill to about 8,000 feet to collect geological data required for a final EPA Class VI CCS well permit. Once operational, the full-scale injection well is expected to sequester approximately 1.4 million metric tons of CO₂ per year, including around 200,000 metric tons from Aemetis’s adjacent sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel facility. Over a projected 20-year operational period, the project is expected to inject and securely store about 28 million metric tons of CO₂ in deep saline formations sealed by multiple caprock layers.
