Beaumont Sequestration
The Beaumont Sequestration Project, led by Caliche Development Partners II, is proposed in Jefferson County, Texas, adjacent to the Golden Triangle Storage (GTS) facility within the Port Arthur–Beaumont industrial corridor. The project plans to inject around 2 million metric tons of CO₂ per year over 12 years, targeting a total of approximately 24 million metric tons. Respiring from industrial sources nearby, CO₂ will be injected into subsurface zones beneath city-leased land west of the GTS site. Caliche has passed the EPA’s initial administrative completeness review for its Class VI permit, entering technical review phase, with a permit decision expected by mid-2026
