Capio Sequestration
Capio Mountaineer Sequestration
Capio Sequestration, a subsidiary of Fidelis New Energy, is developing a Class VI carbon sequestration project in Mason County West Virginia to permanently store carbon dioxide captured from the Mountaineer GigaSystem, a large scale low carbon energy and industrial development led by Fidelis. The Mountaineer GigaSystem is designed to produce hydrogen and other low carbon energy products using advanced processing technologies, including BrightLoop systems that convert coal biomass and natural gas into energy while capturing associated CO2. Capio’s project will provide dedicated geologic storage for these captured emissions through one or more deep injection wells permitted under the Class VI Underground Injection Control program, enabling long term storage in suitable subsurface formations within the Appalachian Basin. The sequestration project is a core component of the integrated Mountaineer development, supporting large scale industrial decarbonization while anchoring a multi billion dollar energy and economic development initiative in Mason County.
