Carnarvon Basin CCS

Buru Energy, through its subsidiary GeoVault, is advancing a carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiative focused on the onshore Carnarvon Basin in Western Australia. The company secured a government grant of approximately A$7 million to conduct a feasibility study, assessing geological suitability for permanent CO₂ storage near its petroleum permit area L20-1. GeoVault’s technical evaluation has independently validated substantial storage potential—on a scale sufficient to offset emissions from its potential Rafael gas project and other future emitters—laying the groundwork for a regional CCS hub in the basin.
