Coles Levee CCS

CRC, through its carbon management subsidiary Carbon TerraVault (CTV), is advancing the Coles Levee Field as a strategic subsurface sequestration site in California’s Central Valley. As part of an expanded carbon storage portfolio fueled by its merger with Aera Energy, CTV plans to submit a Class VI well permit application to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for approximately 27 million metric tons of CO₂ storage capacity at Coles Levee. This will significantly boost CRC’s total storage capacity in the San Joaquin Basin and help establish it as a major decarbonization hub in the region.
