Tallgrass Energy
Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub
The Tallgrass High Plains Carbon Storage Project, developed by Tallgrass High Plains Carbon Storage, LLC, is located in Laramie County, Wyoming, and is the anchor development within the Eastern Wyoming Sequestration (EWS) Hub. The project is permitted as a multi-well Class VI complex with a forecast storage capacity of approximately 130 million metric tons of CO₂ over a 30-year operating life. It is designed to serve industrial emitters across Wyoming, Nebraska, and Colorado, supported by extensive pipeline and storage infrastructure. The project includes six planned injection wells: Juniper I-1, Azalea I-1, Cypress I-1, Barberry I-1, Old Barberry I-1, and Spirea I-1; each paired with a corresponding monitoring well. All wells target the Lyons Sandstone at depths of about 9,100–9,200 feet, with robust regional seals including the Satanka, Chugwater, and Goose Egg formations ensuring long-term containment.
