Entropy Glacier Carbon Storage Project

Glacier is the storage component of Entropy Inc.'s CCS project at Advantage Energy's Glacier Gas Plant in Saddle Hills County, northwest Alberta. Captured CO2 is compressed on site and injected into a saline aquifer roughly two kilometres below surface, into a single horizontal disposal well. Injection began in August 2022, which Entropy describes as the world's first commercial project to capture and sequester CO2 from the combustion of natural gas. The storage well takes all Phase 1 volumes today and is sized to absorb the Phase 2 expansion without a second well.
