Grande Prairie Net Zero Gateway

The Grande Prairie Net Zero Gateway is a proposed carbon storage hub in northeastern Alberta, developed by NorthRiver in partnership with Keyera and Entropy. The project aims to provide environmentally safe CO₂ storage to support emission reductions from industrial emitters in the Alberta Montney region. By enabling large-scale carbon sequestration, the hub is also expected to create opportunities for low-carbon clean fuels production, advancing regional decarbonization and supporting Alberta’s net-zero goals. This project was one of the 19 selected in 2022 by the Government of Alberta to evaluate pore space for carbon storage, as part of the province’s initiative to advance cost-effective, open-access CO₂ sequestration hubs.
