Jubail CCS Hub
The Jubail CCS Hub in Saudi Arabia is being developed as one of the world’s largest carbon capture and storage projects, aimed at supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global leader in low-carbon industries. Located in the industrial city of Jubail, the hub is designed to capture CO₂ emissions from multiple industrial sources, including petrochemical, power, and manufacturing facilities, and transport them for permanent geological storage. The project is led by Saudi Aramco in collaboration with government and industrial partners, with an initial target to capture and store up to 9 million tonnes of CO₂ per year by 2027. The hub will play a central role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s net-zero strategy and in creating low-carbon products such as blue hydrogen and ammonia for export markets.
