L10
The L10 Carbon Storage Project is a major offshore CCS development in the Dutch North Sea, designed to permanently store CO₂ in depleted gas fields. Led by Neptune Energy, in partnership with ExxonMobil, Rosewood Exploration, and EBN, the project is positioned to become one of the Netherlands’ first large-scale carbon storage hubs. The L10 initiative aims to capture CO₂ emissions from Dutch industrial clusters and transport them via existing offshore infrastructure for injection into the L10-A, L10-B, and L10-E depleted gas reservoirs. The use of repurposed offshore platforms and pipelines reduces costs and accelerates deployment, supporting rapid decarbonization. Once operational, the project is expected to store up to 5 million tonnes of CO₂ per year, contributing significantly to Dutch and EU climate goals. By utilizing the North Sea’s existing energy infrastructure, the L10 CCS project supports both industrial emission reductions and the transition of offshore assets into long-term carbon storage solutions.
