Oregon Basin Unit

The Oregon Basin Unit is a large historic oil field located in Park County, Wyoming, on the eastern margin of the Bighorn Basin. Production targets multiple stacked reservoirs including Tensleep Sandstone, Madison carbonates, and other Paleozoic formations within a large faulted anticline structure. Discovered in the early twentieth century, the field progressed through primary production and waterflooding before tertiary recovery using CO₂ injection to increase recovery factors in depleted intervals. The anticline structure provides strong structural containment, making the field suitable for long-term CO₂ retention. Injection operations use pattern flood designs with CO₂ sourced from regional infrastructure.
