CHS is developing a carbon capture and storage project 'Patriot' to decarbonize its Patriot Renewable Fuels ethanol facility in Annawan, Illinois. The ethanol facility produces around 390,000 mt of high concentration CO2 per year. CHS drilled a stratigraphic test well in January of 2024.
