Pincher Creek Carbon Sequestration Hub
West Lake Energy was awarded the right by the Government of Alberta to advance evaluation of a potential carbon sequestration hub near Pincher Creek, designed to permanently store over 2.7 million tonnes of CO₂ per year over a projected 30-year lifespan. The proposed hub targets emissions from an on-site blue ammonia plant, a nearby gas-fired power station, and other local industrial sources, building a shared, low-cost CCUS solution for southern Alberta and northwestern U.S. industries.
