Pitchfork

The Pitchfork Field is located in Hot Springs County, Wyoming, within the Bighorn Basin petroleum province. Production occurs primarily from carbonate and sandstone reservoirs structurally trapped along anticline features typical of basin-margin folds. The field transitioned from primary production and secondary recovery to tertiary CO₂ flooding to increase recovery efficiency from mature reservoirs. CO₂ injection is designed to mobilize residual oil through miscible displacement while maintaining reservoir pressure. Operations typically include pattern injection and CO₂ recycling through surface facilities.
