BlueNord
Ruby Storage Project
The Ruby Project is a pioneering initiative in onshore CO₂ storage at Rødby on Lolland. The ambition is to establish a safe and permanent CO₂ storage facility deep under the subsoil of South Lolland – a key part of Denmark’s climate strategy. With the full backing of the authorities and a state exploration license, the initial studies are already ongoing. The project builds on close collaboration with stakeholders across the entire CCS value chain. By combining decades of subsurface experience and technological expertise, insights from the development of complex mega projects and strong partnerships, Ruby aims to create a positive climate impact and economic value – for the benefit of owners, partners, Lolland, and for Denmark. The Ruby Project is financed by CarbonCuts (80%) and the Danish state via Nordsøfonden (20%). CarbonCuts is a subsidiary, 100% owned by BlueNord, which is also a partner in the Danish North Sea activities.
