Wasson ODC Unit

The Wasson ODC Unit is a large-scale CO₂-enhanced oil recovery (CO₂-EOR) development within the Wasson San Andres Field, located in Yoakum County, Texas, on the Northwest Shelf of the Permian Basin. The project targets oil production from the Permian-age San Andres Formation, a dolomitized carbonate platform reservoir characterized by layered porosity, high lateral continuity, and favorable miscible CO₂ flooding conditions. Following extensive primary production and decades of waterflooding, the field transitioned to tertiary recovery using CO₂ injection to mobilize remaining oil and maintain reservoir pressure. The Wasson ODC Unit forms part of the broader Wasson Field CO₂ flood complex operated by Occidental subsidiaries, alongside units such as Denver Unit, Willard Unit, Bennett Ranch Unit, and Gaines Wasson Clearfork Unit. The project represents one of the largest integrated CO₂-EOR systems globally, combining incremental oil recovery with long-term geologic storage of injected CO₂.
