Wolf Carbon Hub

The Wolf Carbon Hub, located near Fort Saskatchewan east of Edmonton, is being developed by Wolf Midstream in partnership with Whitecap Resources, the First Nation Capital Investment Partnership, and Heart Lake First Nation. The hub is strategically positioned to connect with Wolf’s Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL), enabling large-scale CO₂ transport from Alberta’s Industrial Heartland into secure underground storage. The project is designed with an initial storage capacity of 2 to 3 million tonnes of CO₂ per year, with the ability to expand to more than 6 million tonnes annually. Technical evaluations and development work are already underway, with the hub targeted to be operational by the end of 2024. Once complete, it will function as an open-access carbon storage facility for emitters across the region.
