HIF Paysandú e-Fuels Facility

The HIF Paysandú e-Fuels facility will be located in Constancia, 15 km from Paysandú. The initiative is aligned with Uruguay's strategy to respond to the global transformation in the fuel industry. The project considers the generation of electricity from renewable sources and the transmission of this energy to the e-Fuels plant. The project includes the “Lucía” Photovoltaic Solar Park (PSF Lucía), located north of the town of El Eucalipto, with a peak generation capacity of 1,162 MWp. And the “Elena” Wind Farm (PE Elena) will be located in the Cuchilla de Fuego area, southeast of El Eucalipto, with an installed capacity of 1,137.6 MWp. Environmental permit process started 1Q2024. Pre-FEED completed. FEED started 2Q2024. CO₂ supply from emissions of bioethanol production in ALUR, where 150 kt/yr have been secured, and other biogenic sources.
