Jesup e-SAF Project
Verso Energy is advancing a feasibility study, in partnership with Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM), to develop an integrated “Power-to-X” facility at RYAM’s Jesup, Georgia site that would convert RYAM’s biogenic CO₂ and renewable hydrogen into electro-SAF (e-SAF). The project scope under evaluation includes CO₂ capture and storage (CCS) at the Jesup manufacturing site, an H₂ production unit based on electrolysis, and an e-fuel synthesis unit to produce e-SAF—leveraging RYAM’s existing industrial CO₂ streams, site infrastructure, and logistical connections. A joint steering committee and an exclusivity period have been established to guide technical, economic and environmental studies, and the partners expect a final investment decision in roughly 18–24 months.
