Project OrCHydé
The OrCHyDé project aims to produce e-methanol on the site of Tereos in Origny-Sainte-Benoite by combining hydrogen generated via water electrolysis with biogenic CO₂ captured from sugar-refinery operations at two nearby Tereos sites. The facility will include two CO₂ capture units, one electrolyzer, and a methanation unit, and will be directly connected to the high-voltage grid (via a 225 kV line, 340 MW capacity). Its location adjacent to the CO₂ source and with direct rail access to major French/European ports make it well placed for shipping the produced e-methanol for use in shipping.
