In cooperation with Umeå Energi, Liquid Wind will develop an eFuel facility that will be connected to Umeå Energi’s cogeneration plant Dåvaverket. The facility will capture biogenic CO₂ from the Dåva plant and combine it with green hydrogen produced from renewable electricity to generate eMethanol. The eFuel facility will be able to supply 100,000 tons of fossil-free fuel per year to the shipping industry and capture 150,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Simultaneously, the fossil share of carbon dioxide emissions from the Dåva cogeneration plant will be captured for long-term storage in the bedrock using Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
