30-30 Gas Plant Carbon Capture

Stakeholder Gas Services’ 30-30 Gas Plant carbon capture project in Yoakum County, Texas captures CO₂ and H₂S from sour natural gas processing using amine treatment and injects the treated acid gas stream directly into the Rattlesnake AGI #1 well for permanent disposal. Operations began in March 2019, and the outlet gas stream is approximately 90% CO₂ by volume. To date, more than 12,000 metric tons of CO₂ have been injected, with plans to significantly expand capture and injection capacity as regional gas processing volumes increase. The project is designed to scale up to roughly 16 MMSCF per day of injected acid gas, enabling long-term capture and disposal from both the existing 30-30 facility and potential future third-party gas processing plants in the area. The expansion supports regional flaring reduction efforts while extending the site’s carbon capture and injection operations for an additional 14 years, targeting a total operating life of approximately 17 years from initial startup.
