Bow Valley Carbon Cochrane

Inter Pipeline and Entropy are launching the Bow Valley Carbon Cochrane project to capture approximately 40,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually from the Cochrane Extraction Plant and securely inject it about 3,800 meters underground into a deep saline aquifer, using robust monitoring technologies such as fiber-optic sensing, seismic tracking, and groundwater analysis. The initiative is supported by a $10 million federal grant under Natural Resources Canada’s Energy Innovation Program, aiming for Phase 1 drilling in 2025 and operations by the second half of 2026
