Gryphon Digital Mining
Captus Generation CCS
The Captus Generation carbon capture project is centered on developing clean power hubs in southwest Alberta that combine natural gas generation with on-site carbon capture and geologic sequestration. The concept uses modular infrastructure to capture CO₂ from gas-fired power generation and permanently store it in regional subsurface formations, enabling low-carbon electricity supply at industrial and data center sites. In 2025, Captus agreed to be acquired by Gryphon Digital Mining, which plans to integrate the capture and storage platform with large-scale data center power development, targeting multi-gigawatt buildout capacity tied to carbon-managed natural gas generation. Captus had previously been acquired by Summit Point Capital in 2024 before entering the Gryphon transaction.
