Evanston Blue H2
8 Rivers Capital is advancing a new build clean hydrogen production facility at the Painter Gas Complex brownfield site in Evanston, Wyoming, based on its proprietary 8RH2 autothermal reforming with integrated carbon capture technology. The project is designed to produce approximately 100 MMSCFD of high purity hydrogen with 90 to 99 percent CO₂ capture, enabling delivery of low carbon hydrogen to western U.S. markets either directly as hydrogen or converted into up to 440,000 tonnes per year of ammonia. When constructed, the facility is expected to capture and permanently store roughly 600,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year in Class VI sequestration wells, positioning the project as a large scale carbon managed hydrogen hub in Wyoming. The development is supported by a multi partner Pre FEED program involving Technip Energies, Northshore Energy, the Wyoming Energy Authority, and the U.S. Department of Energy NETL, with the objective of delivering a bankable engineering design and scalable template for future low carbon hydrogen and ammonia projects
