Lexington Ethanol CCS

Chief Ethanol, a subsidiary of Chief Industries, is developing a carbon capture and sequestration project at its Nebraska Lexington ethanol facility. The project focuses on capturing biogenic CO₂ from the fermentation process and permanently storing it in deep geologic formations, supporting lower carbon intensity ethanol production and compliance with emerging low carbon fuel market requirements. Chief has also coordinated with midstream partners, including Tallgrass Energy, to evaluate CO₂ transportation and storage solutions, positioning the project to move captured CO₂ to regional sequestration sites.
