SIRE Carbon Capture Projects

Air Products and Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) have signed an agreement to build a facility at SIRE’s ethanol plant in Council Bluffs, Iowa, that will produce around 400 tons per day of liquid CO₂. Air Products will capture CO₂ generated by the ethanol process, compress it, and liquefy it for commercial use. In parallel, Tallgrass Energy is developing infrastructure to transport and permanently store the captured CO2.
