York Biorefinery

Green Plains is advancing a commercial carbon capture and sequestration initiative at its York ethanol facility in Nebraska that captures biogenic CO₂ from fermentation and sends it for permanent geological storage. The captured CO₂ is transported and stored by Tallgrass Energy through its Trailblazer CO₂ pipeline network to dedicated storage formations in Wyoming, where it is injected and sequestered underground. Carbon capture operations started up in October 2025.
