High West CCS Project

High West Sequestration LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of BKV Corporation's dCarbon Ventures, is developing the High West CCS Project, a geologic carbon sequestration facility in St. Charles and Jefferson Parishes, Louisiana. The pore space is leased from the State of Louisiana through the Louisiana State Mineral and Energy Board, acting on behalf of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission. High West has filed a Class VI UIC permit application covering 5 injection wells (Spoonbill No. 001 through 005) sited in St. Charles Parish. All five wells target the Upper and Middle Miocene sand formations, a stacked sand-and-shale sequence within the Gulf Coast depositional environment that provides roughly 3,800 feet of gross injection interval. Each well is designed to inject 1.5 to 2.5 MMT/yr of CO2 over a 20-year project life, giving the project a combined rate near 10 MMT/yr and a total storage target exceeding 200 MMT.
