High West CCS Project
In August 2023, BKV Corporation and NuQuest Energy LLC entered into a carbon sequestration agreement with the State of Louisiana, establishing a new CCUS framework. Under this agreement, High West Sequestration, LLC, a wholly owned BKV subsidiary, was granted exclusive rights to carbon storage on approximately 21,000 acres across St. Charles and Jefferson Parishes. The company has since permitted the Spoonbill No. 001 Class VI injection well, which will target the Miocene formation for long-term CO₂ sequestration.
