Description
Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), with Fluor Corporation and California Resources Corporation (CRC), conducted a FEED study to assess the feasibility of retrofitting Fluor’s solvent for post-combustion CO₂ capture at the 550 MW Elk Hills NGCC power plant. The system aims to capture approximately 4,000 tonnes of CO₂ per day (75% of total emissions, or 90% of an 83% slipstream), with the captured CO₂ intended for enhanced oil recovery. Deliverables include the full engineering design package—such as process flow diagrams, equipment datasheets, and capital cost estimates—optimized for site-specific performance, operations, and construction practices.

Description
Linde Inc., with Linde Engineering Americas and BASF, is conducting an initial engineering design for a 3,500 tonnes/day CO₂ capture plant using Linde-BASF’s advanced aqueous amine technology at a Linde-owned steam methane reforming facility. The project will define integration options, establish project requirements, optimize process design, and develop engineering, cost, and schedule packages. BASF will provide the technology design, LEA will deliver detailed engineering and constructability assessments, and Linde will lead techno-economic, environmental, and safety analyses in coordination with the SMR plant operators.

Description
Phillips 66, with Worley Group Inc., is developing the initial design for a commercial-scale CCS system at the Rodeo Refinery hydrogen plant, targeting over 90% capture efficiency and storage of about 190,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. The project will evaluate three capture configurations—flue gas plus PSA tail gas, syngas plus flue gas, and flue gas only—selecting the most cost-effective option through a techno-economic analysis. The chosen design will be advanced to a level suitable for the next engineering phase, concluding with a final TEA for the selected CCS configuration.
