Blue Bison H2

The Tallgrass Energy Blue Bison H₂ carbon capture project is a design effort for an advanced carbon capture system paired with a 220 MMSCFD blue hydrogen facility that uses auto-thermal reforming (ATR) to produce low-carbon hydrogen while capturing and preparing CO₂ for sequestration. The project’s objective was to develop engineering designs for a commercial-scale capture unit capable of separating and storing up to ~1.66 million tonnes of CO₂ per year at >97 percent capture efficiency from the ATR hydrogen plant, providing a blueprint for replicable blue hydrogen with integrated carbon management.
