Leo

The Leo Project, developed by Denbury Carbon Solutions, LLC in partnership with Weyerhaeuser, was a proposed CO₂ storage hub in Simpson and Copiah Counties, Mississippi. In 2022, the companies signed an agreement granting Denbury exclusive rights to utilize subsurface pore space across approximately 16,000 acres of Weyerhaeuser’s timberlands for permanent CO₂ sequestration. The project advanced as a six-well Class VI application, but the application has since been withdrawn.
