Brown Pelican
Brown Pelican CO₂ Sequestration Project (also known as the BRP Project) is spearheaded by Oxy Low Carbon Ventures (OLCV) in Ector County, Texas, southwest of Odessa. As a Direct Air Capture (DAC) integrated initiative, the project features three proposed Class VI injection wells (BRP CCS1, CCS2, CCS3) designed to sequester CO₂ captured from a nearby Stratos DAC facility. The wells target Permian-age carbonate rock formations as the primary injection zone. The project has entered the public notice stage of the RRC’s Class VI permitting process, with draft permits issued and ongoing technical reviews. Injection parameters include a total group maximum of approximately 2,116 metric tons per day, with individual wells limited to about 600 metric ton per day.
